Founded in Camberwell in 1981 by George Ramsden, Stone Trough Books - in York since 1991 - continues to hold a hand-picked stock of literature and art books and to catalogue private libraries. We also publish books: fairly small-run but carefully edited, designed and produced.

We stock mainly 20th-century literature, literary biography, poetry, art books. Since the retirement of Philip Martin Music Books we have taken on their sheet music, scores, and books about music.
