Mailhot is a leading manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders using the latest technologies. The company offers a complete line of hydraulic cylinders, of both single stage and telescopic variety.
Mailhot was founded in 1956 by Gilles Mailhot in the town of Saint-Jacques, Quebec. At that period in its history, the company employed about thirty workers and its production was very diverse, products included: hydraulic cylinders, snow plows and elevator shafts.
The Saint-Jacques plant was constructed in 1973, it was then that Mailhot targeted its production solely in hydraulic single stage and telescopic cylinders. In 1989, Mailhot introduced the usage of nitriding to the manufacturing process further increasing the value of its products.
Between 1989 and 1996, Mailhot saw rapid growth and began developing branch locations to serve this demand. The company opened service centers in Guelph Ontario, Edmonton Alberta, Hudson New Hampshire and in Mexico.
In 2002 Technique Surface Innovation (TSI) was created. This division offered commercial salt bath nitriding services for various industrial steel components. From 2005 to 2007, the company’s total production output was increased by adding two more plants in the province of Quebec. In 2007, Technique Surface Laboratory (TSLab) was created.
In 2009, Mailhot built a new 100,000 square foot plant in Mexico. Mailhot has an extensive R & D team, that is working continuously to innovate the design and engineering aspects of its products.
